"Pretty Words. Nothing More. is a great read. It shows the beauty of poetry even when there isn't always a happy ending. I have read many of the poems several times. I hope everyone will get a copy (or 3)."

- Nina Malek Rawls, entertainer, philanthropist, poetry-lover

From the award-winning author of The King of Casinos comes a very personal work about falling in love with the wrong person.

It started out as images and thoughts shared on Facebook to deal with the pleasure and pain of falling in love, being in love, and losing love.

Before long, they were gathering likes and comments from many well-read people, and those readers were asking for more. Ultimately, the uphill battle fought while trying, and failing, to gain the attention of one specific woman, turned into a reflection and exploration of feelings about six very different, and oddly similar women.

Passionate and succinct, these short-form poems carry a lot of meaning and offer a unique perspective on a universal subject.

By design, this book is very basic and does not feature any images or frills. The sales from this book will aid in funding the publishing of "Pretty Words. So Much More." which will feature high-quality original images and artwork from nearly 20 extremely talented, and largely unknown artists from around the United States.

Oh boy, it's hard to be a white knight this day in age. Your 2am vaguebooking about "Red#5" doesn’t pierce the veil of #metoo America enough to win over the heart of whatever girl your nads point you towards. It also refers to the women in it as "Reds," giving them numbers instead of names, and yet somehow feels indignant that the women (Author, please note, these are grown WOMEN over 18, not girls) in this story are not snapping at the leash to have sex with them. It is almost like this man is unaware that women don't like being treated as easily replaceable objects or small children.
Another amazing thing is the amount of entitlement involved in writing this story. Picture or no pictures, there is no powerful message here, just a simpering demand that any woman the author deems "sexy" respond with only desire. Sorry buddy, women are autonomous humans with feelings and opinions, and you are not so amazing that panties drop at your slightest gesture.
Also did this strike anyone else as stalkerish? Like, on what planet do you dogmatically push a woman to the breaking point with harassing fb posts and "in person dialog" after she has told you no, or moved on to be with someone else? OH yeah, in America, where toxic masculinity is king. Actually, this is pretty much a pamphlet on the kind of thinking that defines toxic masculinity: owed sex, no as a suggestion not a statement, the idea you are better than other men without knowing them, sexual harassment of women who do not want you, the idea that women should want you even if they don't, and the "Nice-guy" who is "friendsphered" for no reason.
I hope this writer gets therapy for his inability to have a healthy, adult, relationship that doesn't involve stalking or harassing women.

Concise prose, powerful emotions. A nice post-Valentine's read for anyone who has ever learned from a broken heart.
Beautiful and thought provoking. You can feel the sadness rise up from the pages and taste the heartache in the well chosen words. Pretty Words indeed.
Awesome and insightful a long strange journey through love and life.
An excellent work of art....
Andy Martello's, "Pretty Words. Nothing More. An Unlikely Book of Poetry", is a short read with an impactful message. Sharing the experience of giving a beautiful gift that is not treasured but discarded with no regard. I would recommend this book to any romantic who respects the journey of the heart.
this is a fun and easy read book,I think it is the authors second book, his first book was great also,he sure hit the ground running and is on a winning roll. You will not regret buying this book ! Thank You
I thoroughly enjoyed this very personal book of poetry. It felt like a beautifully tragic love story, being carefully chronicled so as not to miss a single pivotal moment. None of the individual pieces have titles, which I also appreciated. It was like reading Martello's diary (with his permission). Not cheesy. Well-written and worth the time to read.
Andy Martello shows yet another side of his talented self in his latest artistic effort, "Pretty Words, Nothing more. An Unlikely Book of Poetry." The award winning author, comedian and Price Is Right Announcer has shown new depth in this collection of short poems. I love randomly picking a page and finding a gem that sets me off. Some lines touched me so deeply that they hurt while at the same time inspiring me to write lyrics "Tortured is the man whose Siren and Muse is the same." Ouch and thank you. Follow that with "He learned being the right man was not enough." So true. I can only hope I remember that one and strive to be enough. I bet there is an answer in Andy Martello's poetry. I keep it close and consult it frequently. I know most people will feel the same way. I hope there's more to come.
